Apostrophe abuse

Spotted on a sign at the entrance to Target:

Out of respect for our guest's shopping experience, we do not permit solicitation regardless of the issue.

I wonder which lucky guest was so important that an entire company policy was developed to ensure his comfort.

The poor, misused apostrophe: often inserted when it's not needed, and frequently inserted in the wrong place when it is.

Well GMTA, that's what I would think too. And yet they got the word 'ensure' in there correctly. It baffles me how something so simple can be so pitifully misused.

Nah, I wrote the word "ensure".
